Welcome to the “Enriching Program Adapted for Persons with Disabilities and Those in Relationships with Them.” The original Enriching Program teaches the six skills of:

Making Contact, Validating, Becoming Aware, Opening to Greater Understanding and Acceptance, Making Conscious Choices and Seeking or Giving Support. If you are unfamiliar with it, you may wish to read a more complete description under, “About the Program” on the menu.

This adaptation will teach the same six skills as the original program, however, they have been tailored for helping disabled persons and those in relationships with them, such as caregivers, family members and friends. The focus will be around increasing the awareness and understanding of able-bodied persons as to the feelings and challenges of the disabled, while at the same time helping the disabled person become more aware and understanding of the feelings and challenges of those in relationships with them.

If you choose to participate in the program, you will have six lessons, one for each skill. These will be offered in video format with supplemental material provided via email.

You will be assigned a trainer who will give you your assignments and respond to your reflections on the assignment.

To sign up for the program, send an email to office@satirglobal.org and indicate your interest. The fee for the program is $75 and once this is paid, a trainer will contact you to begin the lessons.
